A title that's been building for months
Masicka teased the project earlier this year with a two-word update on social media: “Album ready my side.” That was months before anyone had a title or a date. The full announcement came through an Instagram teaser in June, and it landed with more weight than a typical album reveal because Billboard broke the Barclays Center booking in the same news cycle. When a trade outlet leads with your arena date instead of your tracklist, that tells you where the industry currently has you filed.
He’s described Forever Reign as a record about growth and the next chapter of where he’s at creatively — not a huge left turn, but a document of where three years of momentum have actually taken him. That’s a fair way to frame it, because the run leading into this release has been unusually long for a dancehall artist working outside the pop machine. 438 dropped independently in 2021 and still climbed to No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. Generation of Kings followed in 2023 as his first full-length under Def Jam, 17 tracks deep, and matched that same No. 2 peak. Then came Her Name Is Love in December 2025, a shorter, more romantic EP that picked up a dancehall album of the year nod at this year’s Caribbean Music Awards.
