Bounty Killa

Bounty Killer had one of the biggest weeks of his career, and it happened on his home turf, not at an awards show. On Tuesday, Rodney “Bounty Killer” Price received the Keys to the City of Kingston, a civic honor almost never handed to entertainers. Kingston Mayor Andrew Swaby gave it to him in person, and Wenchman Road got renamed Rodney Price Drive. Bounty didn’t downplay it. “This is more than a Grammy to me,” he said. He also took a minute to talk about where he’s from. Seaview Gardens, he called it, is the “mecca of greatness”  the same neighborhood he had to fight his way out of before dancehall ever knew his name. He thanked his family, his friends, his manager Paul “Bankey” Giscombe, the fans who’ve stuck with him, and the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation for pushing the recognition through.
